Assam Legislative Assembly Vacancy Details
1. Hindi Reporter
No. of Posts: 02
Monthly Pay: ₹35,000/-
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must fulfil the following requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Must possess a Diploma in Hindi Stenography with a qualifying speed of 80 words per minute, along with DTP Typewriting (Hindi) from a recognized institution.
- Must have a 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
- Must have sound knowledge of Assamese and English languages.
- Candidates having knowledge or experience in Parliamentary functioning will be given preference.
2. Hindi Translator

Monthly Pay: ₹25,000/-
Educational Qualification:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university, with Hindi as one of the subjects.
- Must have sound knowledge of Assamese and English literature.
- Must have a 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
- Candidates having knowledge or experience in Parliamentary functioning or reporting in Hindi newspapers will be given preference.
3. Bengali Translator

Educational Qualification:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university, with Bengali as one of the subjects.
- Must have sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Bengali literature.
- Must have a 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
- Candidates having knowledge or experience in Parliamentary functioning or reporting in Bengali newspapers will be given preference.
4. Karbi Translator

Monthly Pay: ₹25,000/-
Educational Qualification:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Must have sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Karbi language/literature.
- Must have a 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
- Candidates having knowledge or experience in Parliamentary functioning or reporting in Karbi newspapers will be given preference.
Other Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
The applicant must be at least 21 years old and not more than 40 years old as on 1 January 2026.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable as follows:
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- SC/ST(P) & ST(H): 5 years
Assam Legislative Assembly Recruitment Selection Process
The selection process for these posts will be conducted as follows:
- Shortlisting of Candidates: The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat will prepare a shortlist of eligible candidates based on the prescribed eligibility criteria.
- Speed Test for Hindi Reporter: Candidates shortlisted for the Hindi Reporter post will be required to appear for a Speed Test conducted by the Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
