ITBP CAPF Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 282 Posts

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has announced the CAPF Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 for 282 Medical Officer vacancies. The recruitment is being conducted through the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Medical Officer Selection Board (MOSB) for BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles.

Eligible medical professionals can apply online for the posts of Super Specialist Medical Officer, Specialist Medical Officer and Medical Officer. The online application process will begin on 10th August 2026, and the last date to submit the application form is 8th September 2026.

ITBP CAPF Medical Officer Vacancy Details

The 282 vacancies are distributed among three categories of Medical Officer posts.

1. Super Specialist Medical Officer (Second-in-Command)

Total Posts: 05

Age Limit: Candidates must not be more than 50 years of age as on the closing date of submission of applications.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess:

  • An M.B.B.S. degree or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized university/institution included in the First Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
  • Registration in a State Medical Register maintained under the relevant Act.
  • Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
  • A Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in the relevant specialty listed under Section 'A' or Section 'B' of Schedule I of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification.
  • DM/M.Ch. or equivalent qualification in the concerned super-specialty.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the relevant super-specialty after obtaining the first postgraduate degree. Senior Residency experience will also be counted.
  • Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.

2. Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant)

Total Posts: 162

Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Educational Qualification: Applicants should have:

  • A recognized medical qualification in the Allopathic system of medicine included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, excluding licentiate qualifications.
  • Candidates holding qualifications under Part-II of the Third Schedule must satisfy the conditions specified under Section 13(3) of the Act.
  • Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.
  • Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
  • A Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in the concerned specialty mentioned in Section 'A' or Section 'B' of Schedule-I, or an equivalent qualification.
  • 1.5 years of experience in the concerned specialty after obtaining a PG Degree, or 2.5 years of experience after obtaining a PG Diploma.

3. Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant)

Total Posts: 115

Age Limit: Maximum 30 years as on the closing date of submission of applications.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have:

  • A recognized medical qualification in the Allopathic system of medicine included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
  • Candidates with Part-II Third Schedule qualifications must fulfil the conditions prescribed under Section 13(3) of the Act.
  • Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.
  • Completion of compulsory rotating internship.

Candidates who are undergoing their compulsory rotating internship may also apply and appear for the interview. However, selected candidates must successfully complete the internship before appointment.

Age Relaxation

The prescribed upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years

Candidates are required to meet the prescribed physical standards for appointment in CAPFs.
