This platform is designed for students seeking admission into undergraduate and integrated postgraduate courses in Assam. The students aspiring to take admissions in all the government and aided colleges of Assam and universities can now use this integrated admission platform called Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal  to get admitted in the desired course and institution. Students would now not have to move from place to place for submitting admission forms. 
 
Further, the students registering themselves in the portal can apply in ten colleges of his/ her choice. The admission would be given in the college and course of the choice of the student on the basis of merit. Apart from being convenient the portal would also save the money of the students.

Assam Government Fee Waiver Scheme

To ensure equal access to higher education and support students from economically weaker sections, the Government of Assam has introduced the Fee Waiver Scheme. This initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on students and encourage them to pursue higher studies.

Under this scheme, eligible students can get admission without paying tuition fees.

Courses Covered Under the Scheme

The fee waiver facility is available for students seeking admission into the following courses:

• 1st Year Higher Secondary (H.S.)

• Undergraduate Courses (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com)

• Postgraduate Courses (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com)

The Assam Government Fee Waiver Scheme is integrated with the SAMARTH Portal. Therefore, students can avail of this benefit only if they apply through the SAMARTH portal.

How to Apply Assam College Admission 2026?

Interested and eligible candidates can online apply for SAMARTH Admission Portal 2026 by Visiting the official Recruitment Portal. They can Follow the Steps given Below.

Step-1: Scroll Up, go to the 'Apply Online' Section.

Step-2: Click on the 'Direct Link' from Link.

Step-3: A New Web Page Will Open.

Step-4: Upload your Passport Size Photograph and Signature and Other required Documents.

Step-5: Pay the Application Fee as per your category and Finally Click on the Submit Button.

Step-6: Don't Forget to take the Print of the Submitted Application Form.

The admission process is divided into two steps:

• Step 1: Students are required to register and complete their profiles starting from 11th April 2026, 04:00 PM onwards.

• Step 2: After Class 12th results are declared, students will select their preferred institutions and programs. (Step 1 will remain open even after commencement of Step 2)
