Admission into the various polytechnic courses under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam, will be based on the marks obtained in the HSLC Exam with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. Eligibility Criteria:-
Age Limit:
The Candidates Should Not be less Than 16 Years As on 31st December 2026. There is no Upper Limit.

Educational Qualification:
Candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination in single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. Candidates also must have passed individually in both Theory and Practical examinations in Mathematics and Science.
Required Minimum Average Percentage in Mathematics and Science is as Mentioned Below.
- General: 40% Marks
- OBC/MOBC: 40% Marks
- SC: 35% Marks
- ST: 33% Marks
Application Fee:
- General Candidates: Rs. 300/- Rupees.
- OBC Candidates: Rs. 300/- Rupees.
- EWS Candidates: Rs. 300/- Rupees.
- ST Candidates: Rs. 300/- Rupees.
- SC Candidates: Rs. 300/- Rupees.
Payment Mode: Candidates can pay their examination fees through an online payment gateway. Candidates should have any one of the following options to make the online payment – Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Online Application Link’ form Link.
Step 3: A New Web Page will Open.
Step 5: Upload your Passport Size Photograph and Signature and Other required Documents.
Step 6: Pay the Application fee as per your Category and finally click on the submit button.
Step 7: Don’t forget to take the Print of the submitted Application form.

# Permanent residents certificate [P.R.C.]
# Caste certificate for all candidates except Un-reserved Category.
# Non-creamy layer certificate - for OBC/MOBC and also six communities under OBC/MOBC.
# Grandsons/grand-daughters of freedom fighter: Certificate issued by from the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister or from Home and Political Department and relationship certificate from concerned Deputy Commissioner.
# Son/daughter of retired defense person: certificate from the Director, Rajyik Sainik Board, Assam.
# Son/daughter of central government employees: P.R.C.- from the concerned state authority outside Assam and service certificate of father/mother from the concerned authority located in Assam.
# Physically Handicapped ( PH)/ Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Identity Card for differently abled issued by the Social Welfare Department, Assam.
# Economically Weaker Sections [EWSs]: Valid E.W.S. Certificate.
# Tuition Fee Waiver [TFW]: Annual Income Certificate issued by the authority not below the rank of Revenue Circle Officer.

Counselling Process
After the completion of the registration and application process, the documents uploaded by applicants will be verified. The counselling process will commence only after this verification is completed. Applicants may receive calls, messages, or emails on their registered mobile number or email address for clarification regarding any submitted information or documents. It is essential to respond promptly to such communications, as failure to do so may lead to the rejection of the application.
The broad outline of the counselling process is as mentioned below:
- Seats will be allotted based on eligibility, rank, caste/category, preferences, and availability.
- Candidates must accept the allotted seat through the portal and download the allotment letter.
- Contact the admission coordinator of the allotted institution and report there on the specified date.
- Physical verification of documents will be conducted at the allotted institution.
- The institution will grant or cancel admission as per prescribed norms.
- Candidates must choose either the “freeze” or “upgrade” option and inform the institution accordingly.
