Eligibility Criteria Assam Police Recruitment 2023
Nationality- Candidates must be Indian Citizen, permanent resident of Assam.
Employment Exchange : Candidates must register his/ her name with a local Employment Exchange in Assam
Candidates must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.
Age Limit :
18 to 40 years as on 01-07-2022 (i.e. Candidates must be born on or before 01.07.2004 and on or after 01.07.1982).
Age Relaxation:The upper age limit is relaxable :
(i) By 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e. Up to 45 years.
(ii) By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. up to 43 years
Educational Qualification Assam Police:
H.S.L.C or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council
Other Qualification: Minimum NCC ‘B’ Certificate.
Note :- The persons having H.S.L.C. passed certificate but not possessing minimum NCC ‘B’ Certificate are not eligible to apply.
Selection Process Assam Police Havildar & Home Guards
(i) Physical Standard Test (PST)
(ii) Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
(iii) Medical Test
(iv) Written Test
Physical Standard Test & Physical Efficiency Test (PST & PET)
PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST :- 40 Marks The Physical Efficiency Test will carry 40 marks. It will have 2 (two) events viz.
Male Candidates :
a) Race: Those who qualify in the PST will have to appear in 1600 meters race to be completed within 450 seconds. Maximum qualifying time 450 seconds.
b) Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks)
Female Candidates:
a) Race : Those who qualify in the PST will have to appear in 800 meters race to be completed within 240 seconds. Maximum qualifying time -240 seconds.
b) Long Jump : Minimum 244 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).
Written Test :
a) Written test will consist of 100 multiple choice type questions to be answered on an OMR answer sheet. For each correct answer the candidate will get half mark. Total marks for the Written Test will be 50. There will be no negative marking.
b) The subjects to be covered will be as follows:-
i. Elementary Arithmetic
ii. General English
iii. Logical reasoning/Mental ability
iv. Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy
v. General Awareness/General Knowledge and current affairs
The question paper for Written Exam will be in the following languages: Assamese/ Bodo/ Bengali/English.
c) Written Test will be conducted at Guwahati. The date and venue of the written test will be notified in due course.

Recruitment dates of Assam Police Havildar & Home Guards posts are released on the official website with all the required information, accept admit cards and exam dates. The notification will be released on December 27, 2022, and the dates for the online application forms start from 02 January 2023, and the last date for the online application form is 31 January 2023. In recruitment, it is also very important to check the number of vacancies, and it is 36. The last process of selection includes interviews. The dates are not mentioned for that.
