A total of 138 vacancies have been announced for Male and Female candidates. Interested and eligible candidates who are permanent residents of Assam can apply online through the official SLPRB website. Eligibility Criteria
Nationality & Domicile
- Must be a Citizen of India
- Must be a Permanent Resident of Assam
- Must be registered with a Local Employment Exchange in Assam
- Must be able to speak Assamese or any other State language fluently
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
The minimum age limit required is 18 Years, and the Maximum age allowed 40 Years as on the date mentioned in the official Notification.

- Scheduled Caste (SC): 5 Years+
- PwBD Candidate: 10 Years+

The Jail Warder selection process consists of the following stages:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Medical Examination

- PET: 40 Marks
- Written Test: 50 Marks
- NCC: 5 Marks
- Viva-Voce: 5 Marks
