PNB LBO Recruitment 2026
Punjab National Bank has invited online applications from eligible graduates for the recruitment of 545 Local Bank Officer (LBO) vacancies in JMGS-I Scale. Candidates will be appointed in their respective states, and those applying for Assam must possess proficiency in Assamese or Bodo.
The online registration process will remain open from 20 July 2026 to 9 August 2026. Applicants are allowed to apply for only one state. Selected candidates will normally serve in the allotted state until completion of 9 years of service or promotion to SMG Scale-IV, whichever comes first.

Pay Scale: ₹48,480 – ₹85,920 per month along with DA, HRA, CCA, medical facilities, leave benefits, retirement benefits and other allowances as per Bank rules.
Probation Period: 2 Years
Service Bond: Selected candidates must serve the Bank for a minimum of 3 years. If they leave before completion of the bond period, they will be required to pay ₹2,00,000.
Language Requirement: Applicants must be able to read, write and speak the local language of the state applied for. For Assam, knowledge of Assamese or Bodo is mandatory.
Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution.
Additionally, applicants should have at least one year of post-qualification experience in the Clerical or Officer cadre of a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank (RRB) included in the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934.
Fresh graduates without banking experience are not eligible to apply.

Negative Marking: One-fourth (¼) mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
Candidates who have not studied the local language of the applied state in Class 10 or Class 12 will have to appear for the Local Language Proficiency Test. The test will assess the candidate's ability to read, write and speak the local language.
Personal Interview
Candidates shortlisted after the written examination and LLPT will be called for a 50-mark Personal Interview. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in the Online Test and Interview.
