The Assam Scooty Scheme 2025, officially known as the Pragyan Bharati Merit Award, is a flagship initiative by the Government of Assam aimed at empowering meritorious female students. By providing free scooters to eligible candidates, the scheme seeks to promote higher education and enhance mobility for young women across the state.

The Government of Assam started a scheme named Pragyan Bharati Scheme in 2020. Under this scheme, the government will provide scooters to all students who have secured 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). This scheme is also widely known and referred to as the Assam HS Scooty Scheme in Assam.

On 8th May 2025, the Higher Education Department of Assam has published an official notification regarding the eligibility criteria of the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under Pragyan Bharati Scheme. As per that official notification, the students who are able to secure 80% or more marks in the Assam HS Final Examination Results are eligible to get the award to be distributed by the department.

The Government of Assam, through the Directorate of Higher Education, continues its commitment to promoting higher education and empowering meritorious students by introducing the Assam Scooty Scheme 2025 under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme. Officially named the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award, this initiative is aimed at supporting academically outstanding students by awarding them with a free scooty.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To benefit from the Assam Scooty Scheme 2025, students must fulfill the following conditions:

Marks Requirement: Must have secured 80% or above in the Higher Secondary Final Examination, 2025, conducted by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).

Residency: Must be a resident of Assam.

Further Education: Must be pursuing education beyond Class 12 (10+2). Students enrolled in colleges outside Assam are also eligible if they possess a valid PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) of Assam.

Ineligible Candidates: Students who are repeaters, in betterment, reappearance category, or dropouts are not eligible for the scheme.

📋 Application Process

The list of eligible students (those who scored 80% and above) will be collected by the authorities from ASSEB. Once this process is completed:

A beneficiary list will be published on the official website of the Directorate of Higher Education.

Selected students will be required to fill up an online application form, which will be made available through a separate notification.
