The State Eligibility Test (SET) is a competitive exam organized by the State Level Eligibility Test Commission (SLET) in Assam for the Northeast region. Its main purpose is to identify qualified candidates who can be appointed as Assistant Professors, similar to the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

    Eligibility Criteria - of State Eligibility Test 2024

    AGE LIMIT

    There is no age limit to appear in SLET Exam. Candidates who qualify in the Test are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor within the jurisdiction of the Member-States of this SLET Commission 

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

    Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC, if they belong to the General/Unreserved/General-EWS category. However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Person with Disability (PWD) category, and the Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to the non-creamy layer, are eligible to appear in the Test if they have secured a minimum of 50% marks (without rounding off) in their Master degree or equivalent examination.

    Candidates who are awaiting the results of their final qualifying Master degree (final year) examination, or whose qualifying examination has been postponed, are also permitted to apply for this Test.

    Payment Mode : Candidates are able to Pay their application fee through the online payment gateway. Candidates should have any of the following options to make the payment - Debit Card (Rupay / Visa / Master Card / Maestro), Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

    Step 2: Click on the ‘Online Application Link’ form Link.


    Step 3: A new Web Page will Open.


    Step 4: Enter all your personal and educational details as required.


    Step 5: Upload your Passport Size Photograph and Signature and Other required Documents.


    Step 6: Pay the Application fee as per your Category and finally click on the submit button.


    Step 7: Don’t forget to take the Print of the submitted Application form.

    About State Eligibility Test 2024

    State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) Consists of Two Paper. All The Two Papers will have only objective type Questions of the Following forms:

    1. Multiple Choice
    2. Matching
    3. Assertion and Reasoning
    4. True and False

    Date and Time of SLET Exam 2024

    State Level Test (SET), 2024 will be conducted on 17th March 2024 (Sunday) in Two Session for Both papers The Details Schedule of SET Exam is as Mentioned Below.

    Paper – I shall be of general subject, intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.


    Paper – II shall consist of 100 objective type questions based on the subject. Each question will carry 2 marks. There will be no negative marking. The compensatory time provided to the visually impaired candidates and PWD candidates with writing disability in Paper-I is 20 minutes. Accordingly, there is provision of 20 minutes compensatory time in Paper - II .
