Assam Direct Recruitment Syllabus 2023-24

The Government of Assam has recently announced the official employment notification for Assam Direct Recruitment 2023. This recruitment aims to fill 12,600 Grade III & Grade IV vacancies across different departments of the Government of Assam. Syllabus of Class IV Recruitment

State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) has not yet released the official Assam Direct Recruitment syllabus for Class IV or Grade IV posts. However, based on last year's ADRE notification, we can have an idea about this year's ADR Examination. Aspiring candidates may check the following section for more details about the syllabus.

No of exams: There shall be two exams on the same day, one for posts/ categories of posts for read up to Class VIII category and another for posts/categories of posts for HSLC passed or equivalent examination passed category.


Type of exam: Written Examination


Mode of exam: Offline


Type of questions: Objective Type Questions


No of questions: 135 Questions


Maximum marks: 135 Marks


Duration of exam: 2 Hours (120 Minutes)

Selection Process: The selection of candidates for inviting them for interview/ skill test will be in the ratio of 1:2. Candidates scoring identical marks in the written examination will be invited to appear in the interview/skill test, irrespective of the ratio mentioned above.

Syllabus details for Class IV/ Grade IV:

The syllabus for the recruitment examination for Class-IV posts will be based on the SCERT syllabus of Class VIII examination and Class X (HSLC Examination) for candidates who have studied up to Class VIII and for those who have passed the HSLC examination or an equivalent examination. 


The syllabus is divided into different sections as follows: 

  • General Knowledge
  • English
  • Social Studies
  • Mathematics
  • Mental Ability and Logical Reasoning

Class III Recruitment Syllabus

The official syllabus for Class III or Grade III posts in Assam Direct Recruitment has not been released by the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) yet. Selection Process of Assam Direct Recruitment

The commission will conduct separate examinations to select the candidates for different types of posts. The examinations shall be held separately on different dates as follows so as to enable higher degree holders to appear in more than one examination. More details about the selection process will be updated later in this section.

Written Examination

As a first step of the selection process, the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) will conduct a written examination which will be known as the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE). Note that the syllabus for each category of the posts will be different and the proper details will be notified in this section after the issue of the official notification.

Interview or Skill Test

The candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the written examination will be called for the second stage of the selection process. In the second step, the SLRC may conduct an interview or a skill test based on the type of posts. The details of the interview or the skill test will be notified separately after the declaration of the written exam results and the same will be updated here.

Merit List

On the basis of the marks obtained in the written examination and the interview or the skill test, a list of shortlisted candidates shall be prepared in order of merit. The commission shall determine minimum qualifying marks for computer tests/ other tests/ practical tests. Candidates securing less than the qualifying marks in the computer test/ other test/ practical test shall not be eligible for selection.
