GATE Notification 2024:
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has released the official notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024. GATE 2024 will be conducted for 30 subjects (also referred to as “papers”) and it will be distributed over 03rd, 04th and 10th, 11th February 2024. The examination would be purely a Computer Based Test (CBT).
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an All-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee comprising of faculty members from IISc, Bangalore and other seven IIT’s on behalf of the National Coordinating Board, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development.
Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission and/or financial assistance to: (i) Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and (ii) Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Arts and Science, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies. Even in some colleges and institutions, which admit students without MoE scholarship/assistantship, the GATE qualification is mandatory.
Further, several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have used GATE score to shortlist the candidates for employment. A few such organizations are: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL).
Direct recruitment to Group A level posts in the Central government, i.e., Senior Field Officer (Tele), Senior Research Officer (Crypto) and Senior Research Officer (S&T) in Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, is now being carried out on the basis of GATE score.

Step 1: Scroll Down, go to the Important web-links Section.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Online Application Link’ form Link.
Step 3: A new Web Page will Open.
Step 4: Enter all your personal and educational details as required.
Step 5: Upload your Passport Size Photograph and Signature and Other required Documents.
Step 6: Pay the Application fee as per your Category and finally click on the submit button.
Step 7: Don’t forget to take the Print of the submitted Application form.
