APSC CCE Syllabus 2021
Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has uploaded the new amended Assam Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2019 in its official website. The CCE syllabus has been changed as per the earlier one.
The Government of Assam has made some new provisions and laid down the following rules to amend the Assam Public Service Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 1989.
Here is the list of major amendments to be implemented in the Combined Competitive Examination conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission from next onwards.
APSC CCE Syllabus & Exam Pattern
The main exam will consist of a written test and interview test. The written examination will consist of one essay paper, five papers on General Studies and two papers on any one optional subject. There will be two qualifying papers to test the language communication skills of the candidates. Thus the marks obtained by the candidates in the main examination (written part as well as interview) will determine their final ranking.
Schemes and topics for APSC Preliminary Exam
There will be two papers in the Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):
1. Paper-1: General Studies I 200 Marks 2 Hours Duration
2. Paper-2: General Studies II 200 Marks Duration of 2 Hours
Total - 400 Marks
The aggregate qualifying marks of Paper-I General Studies I of Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination may be as determined by the Commission.
Paper 1: General Studies I will be set up in such a way that 30% to 35% questions will compulsorily be related to Assam.
Paper 2: The minimum qualifying marks in General Studies II will be 33%.
Schemes and topics for APSC Mains Exam
The main exam will consist of a written test and an interview test.
The written test will consist of eight papers of traditional essay type/objective type and two qualifying language papers (at class X level) with limited number of words. The marks obtained in the interview for the preliminary examination will be counted for ranking.

(i) Paper 1

Paper Type: General Studies
Marks: 250 for each paper
Duration in hours: 3 for each paper
(iii) Paper 7
Paper Type: Optional Subject, Paper I
Marks: 250
Duration in hours: 3
(iv) Paper 8
Paper Type: Optional Subject, Paper 2
Marks: 250
Duration in hours: 3
(v) Interview test (after qualifying the written test)
Marks: 275
Total Marks: 2275.
Qualifying Papers (in class X level):
1. Paper A (300 Marks - 3 Hours Duration) - Any language from Assamese, Bengali, Bodo. Candidates from Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts who have not studied any of these languages in school will be exempted from appearing in the language papers.
2. Paper B - English (300 Marks - 3 Hours Duration)

(Standard and syllabus of elective subjects are almost same as degree level syllabus of universities)

5. Marks will not be allotted for only superficial knowledge.
6. Candidates are required to apply online using the website www.apsc.nic.in. Online applications can be filled up to the last day for submission as prescribed by the Commission. Eligible candidates will be issued an e-admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available on the Commission's website for download by the candidates. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post.
Negative Marking in APSC CCE Exam
(a) There will be a penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by the candidate in the multiple choice question papers as decided by the Commission. There will be negative marking for wrong answers for all questions except a few questions (as detailed below) where the negative marking will be implicit in the form of different marks to be awarded for the most appropriate and so appropriate answer to such questions.
(b) There will be four options for answering each question in the Preliminary Examination. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
(c) If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers is correct and the same penalty will be imposed for that question.
8. The Commission will publicly disclose the marks (obtained in written test and interview/personality test) of the candidates through public portals. The disclosure will be made only in respect of those candidates who will appear in the Interview/Personality Test for the Civil Services Examination and will not be finally recommended for appointment.
The information shared through this Disclosure Scheme about non-recommended candidates may be used by other public and private recruitment agencies to recruit suitable candidates from the information provided in the public portal. A candidate can also opt out of the scheme and in that case the details will not be published by the Commission.
Apart from sharing information of non-recommended candidates for examinations conducted by the Commission, the Commission will not take any responsibility for the manner and manner in which the information relating to candidates appearing in CCE/Selection is used by others . private to public organizations.
